- This is GGR's annual ride festival, fundraiser and CORBA/IMBA (www.corbamtb.com/join) membership drive: The event is free to participate in for all GGR club members. Beginners are welcomed with open arms! Enjoy a day of skills clinics, guided rides, demo bikes, exhibitors, guest speakers, raffles, meeting other women to ride with and much, much more. All guided rides will be pre assigned to ride leaders. You will find your group at sign in. - This is a cross country mountain bike event. A mountain bike is required & needs to be in good working condition. No road bikes, hybrids or electric bikes are allowed. GGR’s club color is PURPLE! So please be sure to wear your GGR jersey or something purple! If you do not have a GGR jersey yet, the turn around is less than 2 weeks! - There will be no switching of rides the day of the event.
- This event is also a CORBA/IMBA membership drive! If you renew or purchase a membership from August 31st-October 17th, your name will be entered in the membership raffle to be presented in the afternoon at the Rocktober event. Please renew here: http://corbamtb.com/join/index.shtml
- CORBA was founded in 1987 to serve the mountain bicycling community of Los Angeles and surrounding areas including southern Ventura County. CORBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to gaining and maintaining public trail access for mountain cyclists and the public at-large. CORBA encourages and promotes the safe and environmentally responsible use of unpaved roads and trails for bicycling and to educate the public about all aspects of off-road cycling and trails.
- Park opens at 7:30am: Entrance to park is $12: Please make sure you have the exact amount to make the lines go faster.
Demo bikes: LADIES! We will have over 100 demo bikes this year! Please take advantage of this and DEMO A BIKE! We need as many as possible to demo bikes to keep these bike companies coming back! Liv, Specialized, Trek, Rocky Mountain, Turner and Bulls Bikes USA will all have their demo trucks at the event. All demo bikes must be picked up at 8am. A reservation list will go up mid September on the GGR FB pages of all the chapters and you can reserve bikes directly through the bike companies. If you don't have a demo bike reservation, it will be 1st come, 1st serve the morning of the event. When making a reservation for a demo bike, you will need to provide some measurements, height and weight to make picking up the bike go faster.
RAFFLE TICKETS: Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the day OR: You can pre pay/order raffle tickets online via Pay Pal started August 31st and pick them up at the raffle ticket table: Pay Pal address is: [email protected]. Please choose sending money to friends or family and in the comments make sure you state how many tickets you are ordering.

SWAP MEET: This is the most popular area every year! We will have 2 booths for the swap meet. Please bring any items you want to sell or trade new or used. They MUST have your name & phone number on them. You must be in the booth if you want to sell or trade your items. Volunteers will not be watching the swap meet booths.

Please plan on getting to the park at 7:30am or early. Gates open at 7:30am. There are huge lines to get into MCSP (Malibu Creek State Park) for this event, so the earlier the better! 8am: Sign in, bring your printed waiver: www.facebook.com/groups/350083721682365/1031874223503308/. This is required. Please bring your signed waiver with you to SIGN IN when you pick up your goodie bag and bike plate. All participants are required to have a GGR bike plate on their bikes. Goodie bags go out to the 1st 250 riders that check in.
8am: Demo bike pick up: if you reserved a demo bike from Liv, Trek, Turner, Specialized, Bulls Bikes or Rocky Mountain, you need to pick it up at 8am so you have it fitted and in time for the morning commencement and guided rides.
8:30am: Coaches meeting: All coaches to report to Leigh Donovan
8:45am: Ride Leader meeting including coaches
9:00am: Morning Commencement given by Wendy Engelberg, Jackie Resiegne and Susie Murphy, intro of exhibitors and event supporters, speaker from CORBA re Trail Etiquette
9:15am: Group Photo, Photo of Coaches, Photo of Ride Leader Volunteers
9:30am: Guided Rides, Beginner skills clinics
12:15pm: Lunch, exhibitors, swap meet. The food truck Keep on Grubbin & Shave It nation will be there. Otherwise, please bring your own lunch and drinks.
1:15pm: Guest Speakers: Nancy Harris, Jill Hamilton, Christina Turner & Amy Rambacher to talk about the different disciplines in Women's Mountain bike racing and will do a Q& A of racing. Also Jill will talk about the possibility of bringing back the old WOW weekends for the summer of 2016
1:45pm: Guest Speaker Leigh Donovan: The importance of learning skills so your mountain bike experience is safe and fun!

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be 18 years of age to attend this event or contact Wendy Engelberg directly if you have a young lady who would like to join from one of the high school teams. We welcome all young ladies from the high school teams! Email: [email protected]

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Malibu Creek State Park charges $12 parking to get into the park: Gates open at 7:30am. Please have the exact amount so the lines go quickly.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
1) Your mountain bike in good working condition, biking shoes, gloves, water, snacks, helmet, camera, cash.
2) Lunch if you don't want to use the lunch truck, folding chair and or blanket in case the picnic tables are full. There will be a food truck and shaved ice truck, however the lines can be long sometimes.
3) Swap meet stuff! During lunch, sell or trade your used gear and bike clothes. Make sure all of your stuff is tagged with your name and what the price is you are selling it for. You must be present at the Swap meet booths to sell or trade your stuff.
